Cette cache fait partie du « Projet GEORP » qui regroupe une dizaine de caches sympas réparties autour de la commune de Orp-Jauche le long de l’ancienne voie ferrée L147 Tamines-Landen. L’ancienne gare de Orp, située entre Jauche et Maret, a été reconvertie en agence bancaire. Mais le plus impressionnant est l’espace vert où la piste cyclable slalome joyeusement. Imaginez que jadis cet endroit était couvert de voies ferrées ! La gare de Orp était très importance pour l’industrie locale, aujourd’hui complètement disparue. Derrière le mur au pied duquel se situe la cache, on aperçoit les ruines d’une ancienne usine, témoin d’un passé désormais révolu. Orp a perdu son intense activité économique, et est devenue une paisible commune-dortoir. La piste cyclable RAVeL permet de redécouvrir cette bourgade méconnue.
This cache is part of the “GEORP Project”, grouping about ten cool caches spread around Orp-Jauche along the old L147 railway track Tamines-Landen. The old Orp station, situated between Jauche and Maret, has been converted into a bank office. Take a look at the huge green space crossed by the bicycle path. Imagine that a lot of railway tracks were here in the past. The Orp Station was very important for the local industry, which has now completely disappeared. Behind the wall where you find out the cache, you can see the ruins of an old factory. Orp has losen its intense economic activity, and became a quiet residential city. Thanks to the RAVeL bicycle path you can discover this small town.
