Earthcache: Barranco de Arure

Actually the whole island of La Gomera is a unique phenomenon of nature so that only the visit of this island should deserve an earth cache. Since this is not possible, I’d like to draw your attention to an absolute exceptional feature of this beautiful island, the so called „Barrancos“. The whole island has plenty of bigger and smaller valleys, the barrancos. Starting in the center of the island they go symmetrically through the volcanic rock stratum of La Gomera. The “Barranco de Arure” is not the biggest but one of the most beautiful barrancos of the island. The hike from El Guro to the reachable end of the barranco is at the same time an absolute classical hike at La Gomera. You can start your hike at the sign in El Guru (N 28°06.428 / W017°19.627)
To log this cache, you have to solve the following tasks / questions at the reachable end of the Barranco (a little hint: a yardstick and a thermometer could be helpful).
1. At the reachable end of the Barranco de Arure (N 28°07.114 / W 017°19.483) you´ll stand in front of a little lake inside a small cirque. How is this lake supplied with water?
2. Depending on the season / rainfall the depth of the lake varies. Measure at your visit the exact depth in the middle of the lake and the water temperature.
3. In which valley does the Barranco de Arure lead?
To log the cache please email me the correct answers. I will seek to check the answers as quickly as possible and send you the permission to log.
Under the amended Log conditions a photo is no longer necessary to prove your visit. To complete the collection of great photos, it would be great if you would still enter a picture of you with your GPS.

En el fondo la isla entera de La Gomera es un único fenónemo de naturaleza, de manera que ya uno quien visita la isla debería recibir un „earthcache“. Pero como no es así, me gustaría llamar vuestra atención sobre un fenónemo extaordinario de esta isla maravillosa - los barrancos. Por toda la isla van numerosos barrancos pequeños o grandes. Saliendo del centro de la isla de forma casi simétrica pasan por las piedras volcánicas de la isla.
Por cierto, el barranco de Arure no es el mayor barranco, pero es uno de los más bonitos de la isla, y al mismo tiempo la caminata desde El Guro hasta el final es una de las caminatas „clásicas“ en La Gomera.
Podéis empezar la caminata en esta señal en El Guro: (N28°06.428 / W 017°19.627).
Para log este cache, hay que solucionar las tareas siguientes en el lugar mismo (un consejo: un metro plegable y un termometro pueden ser una ayuda).
1. Al final del camino en el Barranco de Arure estáis enfrente de un lago pequeño en una caldera de roca. De dónde viene el agua?
2. Depende de la estación del año la densidad del lago está variando. Por favor, medid la densidad exacta en el centro del lago así que la temperatura del agua.
3. ¿En qué valle desemboca el barranco de Arure?
Para registrar este cache por favor envíeme un correo electrónico con las respuestas correctas. Voy a comprobar las respuestas lo antes posible y luego vais a obtener el permiso para log el cache.
Bajo las condiciones de registro modificado la foto ya no es necesario para log el cache. Sin embargo, para aumentar la colección de fotos aún más, sería estupendo si pudierais agregar a su registro una foto vuestra con tu GPS.

Eigentlich ist die ganze Insel La Gomera ja ein einziges Naturschauspiel, so dass man schon für den Besuch dieser tollen Insel einen Earthcache vergeben sollte. Da dies aber nicht geht, möchte ich euch mit diesem Cache auf eine absolute Besonderheit dieser wunderschönen Insel, die Barrancos, aufmerksam machen. Die ganze Insel ist von einer Vielzahl von größeren und kleineren Talschluchten, den Barrancos durchzogen. Diese durchgraben das vulkanische Gestein der Insel fast symmetrisch vom Zentrum der Insel ausgehend.
Der Barranco de Arure ist sicher nicht der größte, aber einer der schönsten Barrancos der Insel und die Wanderung von El Guro zum begehbaren Ende des Barranco, ist gleichzeitig ein absoluter Klassiker unter den Gomera Wanderungen. Um den Earthcache zu loggen, müssen folgende Aufgaben vor Ort gelöst werden (kleiner Tipp: ein Zollstock und ein Thermometer könnten helfen).
1. Am Ende des begehbaren Abschnitts des Barranco de Arure (N 28°07.114 / W 017°19.483) steht ihr vor einem kleinen See in einem Felsenkessel. Wie wird dieser See mit Wasser gespeist?
2. Je nach Jahreszeit / Niederschlagsmenge variiert die Tiefe des Sees. Messt bei eurem Besuch die genaue Tiefe in der Seemitte und die Wassertemperatur.
3. In welches Tal mündet der Barranco de Arure?
Um den Cache zu loggen mailt mir bitte die richtigen Antworten. Ich werde mich bemühen die Antworten schnellstens zu überprüfen und ihr erhaltet dann die Logfreigabe.
Nach den geänderten Logbedingungen ist ein Foto keine notwendige Logbedingung mehr. Um die tolle Fotosammlung jedoch weiter zu vergrößern, wäre es toll, wenn ihr eurem Log ein Foto von euch mit eurem GPS beifügen könntet.
