Die von Gustav Horn bis Mitte der 20er Jahre geführte Stadtmühle wurden während des 1. Weltkrieges (1914 – 1918) unter strenger Geheimhaltung zwei Wasserturbinen eingebaut. Nach Gustav Horn übernahm 1929 die Mühlenfirma Hugo Fischer, Inhaber Harry Böth, die Roßweiner Mühle bis zu ihrer Stilllegung. Nach Abriss des Mühlengebäudes im Jahr 2006 fanden sich die oben erwähnten Turbinen in einem speziellen Turbinenschacht (5 Meter tief) unterhalb des Mühlenkellers. Am Standort der ehemaligen Mühle steht nun die große Francisturbine, die über ein Eigengewicht von ca. 9,5 Tonnen und 220 PS verfügte. Ihre Aufgabe war es, das gesamte Mühlensystem Anzugtreiben.
Die zweite und kleinere Turbine verfügte über 120 PS und wurde bei der Öffnung des Turbinen Schachtes 2006 völlig zerstört vorgefunden. Sie versorgte die Schrotmühle und trieb den Lichtstromgenerator für das gesamte Gebäude an. Der Cache ist bis auf wenige meter sehr gut Mit dem Rollstuhl zu erreichen!
The Gustav Horn until the mid-'20s run mill town during the 1st World War (1914 - 1918) under strict secrecy built two water turbines.
