Geocache Description:

Located along the Hawk Ridge Trail at Queeny Park

Mike likes to hike. I have decided to add a few more hiking caches to the area. These caches are designed for you to get away from the car and enjoy a nice hike in one of our many beautiful parks. The point of these caches is the journey to the cache, not the cache itself. They aren't meant to be hard to find but they give you that extra reward while on the trail.

This cache is located along the Hawk Ridge Trail in Queeny Park. Queeny Park is a nice large park in West County where you can hike or bike. The entire trail is 4.4 miles. This cache is located about a mile from the nearest parking lot. It is a fairly easy hike on a rolling hard pack surface. The last 125 feet is a bit of a bushwhack and likely tougher in the summertime. It is a Lock & Lock sandwich container.

NOTICE: Please be respectful of the posted park hours. If you enter the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you can be ticketed or arrested and will put the future of geocaching in the parks in jeopardy

Special permission to hide caches in St. Louis County parks is NOT needed as long as the Groundspeak rules are followed. "Blanket Permission" has been worked out in advance with the park service. DO NOT CALL THE PARK as they cannot handle the calls. The Groundspeak cache reviewer does need to know exactly how and where the caches are hidden and what type of containers are used. The geocaching liaisons will notify the park service of new caches. Remember NO AMMO BOXES or PVC PIPE caches.
