BlueBeadMan: Well, the Bash is back behind us now. So is the Big Bash that follows the BYO Bash. In fact, two other bashes, a CITO in St. Charles and the SLAGA Spring Picnic are both behind us. WIth all the rain we had at MOGA this year, perhaps next year's BYO event should be called the Splash Bash. Ok then space fans, until Splash Bash 2010 is upon us, safe and happy travels and may the force be with you!

Let's get this party started MEGA-style! Once again, the Bash
before the Bash is Bodaciously Back!
There is a big MEGA event near this location later this weekend,
and while this "Meet and Greet" is not designed to compete with
that other big MEGA event, many of the people attending that other
MEGA event will undoubtedly make an appearance at this event. Hey,
that is awesome! Anything we can do to help promote geocaching in
the area is a great thing! Dennis Gill, owner of Timber Ridge
Resort, has graciously given permission to us to once again use
Timber Ridge as BYO Headquarters--that is, as long as no naked
polar bears disrupt the llamas!
So here's the deal:
Starting around 6pm or so and lasting until 10 pm or thereabouts
(everyone NOT staying here should be out by 11 pm at the latest) on
Friday, March 27th, 2009, we will have a geocaching party to help
people get to know or renew their friendship with each other. We
have several things planned for this event:
- MOGA pre-registration from 5 pm to 7 pm (NOTE: Get all of
your MOGA stuff--like T-Shirts, MOGA GEOCOINS, Coords,
etc--RIGHT HERE. COOL! Please note: NO WALK-UP REGISTRATIONS
will be accepted during the BYO Bash. The ladies will just be
handling those who have already registered)
- A Night Cache (Bring your flashlight!)
- Hopefully a blazing campfire...
- A table set up for swapping sig items with other cachers
- Some tunes (quietly) blaring away on a sound system of some sort.
- Possibly a home-made movie or two of a previous MEGA event being
shown on a big screen
Just like always, cachers will be talking about caching, folks will
be trading sig items, and contestants will be plotting strategy.
Everybody will be having a MEGA-great time! Just PLEASE, remember
we are guests here and should be respectful of others and of the
competition to be held the following day. I certainly do not
want to ask anyone to leave, but if someone makes themself a
problem, then I will do what I need to do for the safety of the
entire group.
Kat, half of WheelinB, has graciously offered to help with this
party once again. Plus, I hear that the KC folks will be holding
their Blue Moon party near this location as well so there will be
plenty of folks around this place. All you will need to do is find
the party. That should be easy. The coordinates at the top of the
page will lead you to the entrance to the place where this event
will be held. Once you get to those coordinates, you will easily
find the actual party.
Just remember the following!
This is a BYO party--so BRING YOUR OWN!
Bring your own lawn chair.
Bring your own flashlight for the night cache.
Bring your own drinks of any kind or flavor.
Bring your own snacks and food items.
Bring your own sig items to trade.
Bring your own SELF, friends, and others...
I guess that's it.
The only other thing to say is: LET'S GET THIS PARTY
STARTED!!!
