A lovely circular walk around the national water ski centre at Townhill.
Townhill loch is located only one and a half miles from Dunfermline Town centre. The Loch is a popular place for walkers and other recreational pursuits, so is very busy with muggles and their duggles. The path around the Loch has a tarmac surface, approx 1mile long, it is an excellent path and allows access for all.
The purpose built water ski centre and SWSA HQ was opened in 1992 by Prince Edward and is one of the best water ski centers in Europe. In 2002 the centre hosted the national disabled water ski championships.
This area is very different today relying on leisure rather than industry, as it was home to Lochside brickworks that opened in 1902 and closed in 1974 the brickworks were situated on your right hand side as you enter from the main road.
