White Pi Day Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

terrortorian: Another event completed and all the logs are in, time to consign this event to histories archive bin. Thanks for the attendance both here and everywhere. Could probably have been considered a megaevent due to the scale of the events. Until next time. Terrortorian

Geocache Description:

A gathering of cachers to celebrate 2009.

Welcome to the New year and the release of some great new puzzles to challenge you all. Event starts at 1:59 with an appropriate snack and the release of New Puzzle caches so that those cachers in attendance can get a chance on a FTF. If perchance the area is inundated then the event shall move up to S16° 54.344 E145° 42.438 This event is named after two events that occur on the same day each year and in an effort to encompass them all we have decided to honor both. White Day was first celebrated in 1978 in Japan. It was started by the National Confectionery Industry Association as an "answer day" to Valentine's Day on the grounds that men should pay back the women who gave them chocolate and other gifts on Valentine's Day.(such a great idea) Pi Day is a holiday held to celebrate the mathematical constant p (pi). Pi Day is observed on March 14, due to p being roughly equal to 3.14. The first Pi Day celebration was held at the San Francisco Exploratorium in 1988, with staff and public marching around one of its circular spaces, and then consuming fruit pies. Not to sure that we shall march in circle we think that whilst a cacher is hunting around GZ that enough circle work happens. All are welcome, We had a great time at our first event so are keen see more events in Cairns.
