A roadside monument outside Dungarvan, County Waterford.
Master McGrath was one of the most famous greyhounds ever known and a sporting legend in 19th century Ireland and the UK.
In 1868 he became the first Irish greyhound to win the Waterloo Cup. After his third victory of this famed race he was granted an audience with Queen Victoria.
Poems and ballads have been composed in his honour also.
This is the only public monument honouring a greyhound in the Republic. He was reared and trained not far from here in Colligan.
The monument can be found at the junction of the N72 and R672 roads northwest of Dungarvan Town.
The cache is a small round camouflaged tupperware box.
