Airport Zell am See

Der Flughafen Zell am See (“LOWZ” ELEV 2470´ / 753m - Frequenz 119.70) befindet sich südlich von Zell am See und kann von motorisierten Maschinen, sowie von Segeflugzeugen angeflogen werden.
1934 begann man mit dem Bau des Flughafens im Zellermoos. Die erste Landung eines Passagierflugzeugs fand am 18. Juli 1937 statt und der Bürgermeister von Zell am See begrüsste die ersten Fluggäste (Mr. Miller aus Chicago mit seinen zwei Begleitern) persönlich. Im Jahre 1938 wurde der Flughafen vom NS-Fliegerkorps/Gruppe 17 (Ostmark) übernommen und zur "Reichssegelflugschule" ausgebaut.
