Fondée en 1891, elle est d'abord un haut lieu de l'activisme révolutionnaire. Maintenant convertie en salle de spectacle.
La mosaïque de 172 m², qui la jouxte, est due à Ferdinand Fargeot à qui l’on avait imposé un thème : « La vie embellie par le travail ». Les personnages représentants des ouvriers côtoient six personnalités. Trois architectes, Meysson, Baud et Gabriel Rambaud, le docteur Sahuc, le fondateur de la coopérative « l’Avenir » et Edouard Herriot maire de Lyon.
