Geocaching is challenging. Some people make it more challenging by
creating challenge caches. Challenge caches require you to find
caches that fulfill a specific requirement before you may log a
find. You may have to find a cache in every county in the state, a
cache on every day of the week, or just a list of caches the owner
thinks are worth finding. Some challenges are more challenging than
others. Some are just plain silly. Either way, you need to go find
them. Why? Because you want to find this cache. This is the
Challenging Challenge Challenge.
The Challenge:
In order to log a find on this cache, you need to complete more
than half of the challenge caches listed below. They are the
challenge caches hidden in Illinois. To make it just a little more
challenging the Challenging Challenge Challenge cache is located
near the northeast corner of the state. Hey, if you worked this
hard already a little more travel time shouldn't be a
problem.
You are looking for an ammo can in the woods. It is filled with
trinkets and a logbook. What more could you ask for? It's not hard
to find and the walk won't kill you. The difficulty and terrain
ratings are based only on what you need to do to meet the
requirement to log your find.
The Rules:
You must find more than half of the caches listed on this page. If
there are nine caches listed on the page you must find at least
five of them. If there are ten you must find at least six. And so
it goes. Your finds must be legitimate and approved by the owners
of those caches. Complete those challenges and compile a public
bookmark of those finds on this page. If you are not a premium
member you may email a list of your required finds for verification
through my profile. Any logs not conforming to the rules will be
deleted.
If you have a found log on one of the listed caches then put it in
your bookmark. If you own one of the listed challenge caches it is
your decision as a cache owner if you can log a find on your own
cache. If that is how you want to play the game and it makes you
happy that is up to you. Feel free to include it on your bookmark
and see how far it gets you.
At the time this cache was placed there were nine Challenge caches
in Illinois. As more are placed the list will get longer which will
increase the number of challenge caches you need to complete to
fulfill the requirements for the Challenging Challenge Challenge. I
suggest you get moving.
Meaningless bonus points will be awarded for finding caches in
Illinois that contain "challenge" in the title but are not actual
challenge caches.
Effective 10/1/10 you are no longer permitted to log the cache
until you qualify. You may log the cache only after finding the
currently required number of Illinois Challenge caches. Notes
indicating that they will be changed to finds at a later date will
be deleted.
If you don't like my rules, go start your own challenge. But keep
in mind, it will get added to this list and you'll just make it
harder for everyone else.
