This was a challenge cache. In the past you needed to meet the conditions of the narrative below before you could log this cache. Recent changes to Geocaching rules bar this sort of cache you can you log it or just for fun meet the challenge below.
Your mission is to find one cache in all 36 sections of the Wichita Township in Sedgwick county. The Wichita Township is a square bordered by 29th street, Woodlawn, Pawnee, and Meridian. The Township is further subdivided into 36 square sections. The challenge is to find one cache in all 36 sections.
1. No caches found before Jan 1st, 2009 can count towards the total. Some sections have no caches in them, meaning some of us will need to place new caches. If you place a cache in one of the sections, you can count that as a find towards completion of this goal.
2. All types of listed caches (virtual, multi, puzzle, traditional) count. But the listed coordinates must be published on the Geocaching.com map. Thus a puzzle icon in Andover for a cache located in Riverside Park will not count.
3. Publish a bookmark with your finds, numbered 1-36 for the correspondingtownship.
4. You can download a map of the township via the Sedgwick County GIS site at (visit link)
5. The map doesn't show the township sections until you zoom in. You will notice a grey number indicating the section number. As an example, after downloading the map, find the intersection of 21st and Woodlawn. The first section is bordered by 21st, Woodlawn, Oliver, and 29th. You will notice a grey "1" right above Pembrook in the middle of the square. USGS township maps are numbers in a grid box of 6x6 squares. The upper most right square is #1 and the first row is labeled right to left 1-6. The box under 6 is labeled 7 and the next set of numbers (7-12) are marked left to right, opposite of the first set. Weird huh?
6. The cache is a large L-n-L container. It is located in section 18 and cannot be counted as a find for this challenge.
