Geocache Description:

Simple park and grab at a turn out on the ocean side

We were driving home from Big Sur. It was around 6:30ish as we drove past the spot were you watch the elephant seals, 6 miles north of San Simeon. With a new moon, it was pitch dark, definitely cold and with no other cars on the road. That's when we saw a flashing light by the entrance to the elephant seal watching vista. We turned back to check it out only to find a German couple standing there. Their car had broken down, and they had been waiting there for close to three hours, flashing any car with the hope of getting help. We gave them a warm and cozy drive back to San Simeon were they could grab a room, dinner, and a drink to celebrate civilization. This cache is dedicated to all of us who have been stranded while on vacation [or not!] and were saved as we almost lost hope for a warm bed and a cold drink.

This cache may be a little tricky to get to from the northbound lane do to traffic, so please take caution when making this left turn, but easy turn off for southbound. Have camera in hand. This is a spectacular road to travel and this spot is amazing to watch the sunset. Please place cache back as you found it for the next cacher. As always careful for muggles, this is a popular spot.
