Geocache Description:

Small aspirin container containing log only. There is an unactivated geocoin underneath for FTF.Cache is reached down a track to the church only.

St. Peter's church is one of the very few churches in the country to remain hardly altered since being built. It was commissioned by the rector of the time,Godfrey Thring ,to the designs of Sir T. C. Jackson, one of the leading architects of his day.

The nearby manor house was built in 1867 as a rectory by the wealthy incumbent whose father had been both parson and squire of nearby Alford.

Inside the church the clock is one of the first electric ones produced.

The organ is also quite different as the organist is facing the congregation rather than having his or her back to them.

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
