The Tale of a Winter Wonderland
The Romance of Night Butterfly and
MrRogersNghbor
In October of 2004,
a seed was planted that would forever change the course of history.
Although Night Butterfly and MrRogersNghbor knew
each other as children, it had been many moon since they last had
seen. Both had grown, and matured, and blossomed. It
would take several more years, but that spark would eventually grow
to a full fledged romance and friendship. The two would experience
great joy and hardship together growing evermore close. In the
fall of 2008, MrRogersNghbor set forth a plan that would
lead to a marriage proposal. This cache is the story of that
proposal.
MrRogersNghbor
had known for a long time how he planned to propose. It was only a
matter of finding the right moment. A personalized cache with a
clever theme would be the perfect fit.
MrRogersNghbor decided
that since Night Butterfly loved the enchantment of winter
and Christmas, he would create a Winter Wonderland theme. It would
be a two-stage puzzle cache that would involve the use of poetic
clues to get to the final destination. There would await Night
Butterfly's Christmas present and an extra special surprise.
Night Butterfly knew that she would find her
Christmas present in the cache, but little did she know what she
would find after reading the log. MrRogersNghbor planned
for this to take place on the 23rd of December, 2008.
So alas, on December 23 of 2008,
MrRogersNghbor set his plan in motion. Night
Butterfly managed to find her way through to the final cache.
She opened the cache container discovering two tickets for a
romantic dinner and show at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre to see
The Producers. Then, as she opened the log, she read these
lines:
In the meadow we
can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say: Are you married?
We'll say: No man,
But you can do the job
When you're in town.
It was at
this time, that MrRogersNghbor pulled out the ring, got on
one knee and proposed. Night Butterfly was able to get out
a yes in the midst of crying and jumping up and down. The two
embraced before exiting GZ to spread word of the
news.
MrRogersNghbor and Night Butterfly were
married on the shores of Lake Superior on June 27th of
2009.

Just over three years ago,
we met anew.
Our eyes met

Go to this place
and there you'll find
a wintry wilderness.
Under the guard
of a watchful bear
lies the clues you'll need
to send you on your way.
