Jablonec’s Petrin – the place where it really stands

Rozhledne Petrín v Jablonci nad Nisou již jedna keš venována je (GCWVBT), nicméne se nachází na trochu jiném míste, ze kterého Petrin moc z blízka nepoznáte, což si toto místo rozhodne zaslouží. Tato keš Vás dovede prímo k rozhledne, kterou si mužete blíže prohlédnou, a kde si mužete užít pekný výhled na Jablonec a Jizerské hory.

Historie Petrína se zacala psát roku 1906, kdy zde postavil a 2. prosince téhož roku slavnostne otevrel pohostinství s rozhlednou pan Richard Felinghauer. Návrší, na kterém objekt stojí, se tehdy ríkalo Nickelkoppe, a proto bylo pohostinství s rozhlednou pojmenováno Zur Nickelkoppe. I pres vynikající polohu se zarízení príliš nedarilo cehož dusledkem se zde casto strídali vlastníci i nájemci. Mimo jiných si pocátkem roku 1934 restaurant pronajal Hans Öser, který se ho pokoušel prejmenovat na Öserwarte (Öserova rozhledna). Název se však, podobne jako „Hohenwarte“ (Vysoká rozhledna), nikdy neujal. Soucasné pojmenování Petrin se vžilo až po roce 1945.

Pohostinství sloužil objekt do konce 2. svetové války. Poté se z neho stal detský domov, který zde fungoval do poloviny 60. let, kdy byl v souvislosti s porádáním mezinárodních výstav bižuterie v Jablonci nad Nisou preveden do vlastnictví státního podniku Restaurace a jídelny a opet zacal sloužit svému puvodnímu úcelu. V té dobe se Petrin konecne stal oblíbeným vycházkovým místem.

Po roce 1989 byl objekt zprivatizován, opet se zde vystrídalo nekolik vlastníku a v roce 1993 byl objekt uzavren a pocal rychle chátrat. Soucasný majitel jej koupil v roce 1996 a po vyjasnení majetkoprávních pomeru jej behem let 1999 a 2000 zrekonstruoval a prestavel do soucasné podoby. Po dlouhé dobe byla také otevrena rozhledna. Slavnostní otevrení Petrína probehlo 2. ríjna 2000.

Nyní k multine samotné. Souradnice Vás zavedou pred desku na které je skica horizontu a na ní jsou napsány nadmorské výšky výrazných kopcu. Pro získání souradnic finálky musíte najít nadmorskou výšku následujících bodu:

Královka = B
Jizera = C
Cerná Hora = D
Vysoký Hreben = E

There is already one cache dedicated to Petrin view-tower in Jablonec nad Nisou (GCWVBT), but it is located at slightly different place, from where you won’t see much of Petrin, what it surely deserves. This cache will bring you right to the view-tower, which you can closer explore and where you can enjoy great view to Jablonec and Jizera mountains.

The history of Petrin begun in 1906, when Richard Felinghauer built, and on 2nd December of the same year opened, the restaurant with view-tower. The hill where the object is located was called Nickelkoppe by the time, therefore the restaurant with the view-tower was named Zur Nickelkoppe. Even through it’s perfect location the place was not really successful therefore the owners and lessees were often changing. Among the others in the beginning of 1934 Hans Oser rented the place and tried to rename it to Oserwarte (Oser’s view-tower). The name never came to people’s mind, same as the name Hohenwarte (tall view-tower). The recent name Petrin came to place after 1945.

The place was used as restaurant till the end of WW2. After that the place was turned into children’s home, which was in place till mid 60’s, when in relationship with international costume jewellery fair held in Jablonec nad Nisou it was turned back to restaurant. By that time it finally became a popular visitor's destination.

Petrin was privatized after 1989, number of owners changed in there again and in 1993 it was closed and began to deteriorate quickly. Present owner bought it in 1996 and after clearing out legal issues he restored and rebuilt the building during years 1999 and 2000 to it’s current shape. The view-tower was opened after long time as well. The ceremonial opening took place on 2nd October 2000.

About the cache now. Initial coordinates will bring you to the stone block with sketch of horizon with written altitudes of significant hills. To obtain the final coordinates you have to find altitudes of following points:

Slovanka = A
Královka = B
Jizera = C
Cerná Hora = D
Vysoký Hreben = E

The cache can be hunt at night as well, the night view have it’s own spirit. Just be careful for lovers in cars
