Geocache Description:

Cette cache, sur la commune de Cassagne, vous fera découvrir une jolie fontaine dans un petit sous bois, proche de la rivière Lens qui coule un peu plus loin sous le Pont de la Caraou.

Cette fontaine qui date de 1680 est le témoin historique de l’existence d’un point d’eau très fréquenté au 17ème siècle. Mais l’approvisionnement en eau était difficile pour les villageois en raison d’une forte déclinaison et d’un long chemin d’accès. (comptez environ 200m).

A cause des inondations possibles, nous avons choisi une cache en hauteur. Vous trouverez donc peut être le trésor avant d’arriver à la Fontaine. Mais descendez jusqu’à elle : elle est tout près et elle mérite l’effort !

This cache, in Cassagne, will make you discover a lovely spring in a little wood, next to the river Lens that flows under the Bridge of Caraou a little farther.

This spring which dates from 1680 is the historical witness of the existence of a very busy watering place in the 17th century. But water supply from this spring was very difficult for the villagers due to the path steepness and length. (Count about 200m).

Because of possible floods, we chose a rather high place for the cache. Therefore, you may find the treasure before the spring. But please walk down to it: it is very near and it is worth the effort!
