SideTracked - Hednesford Traditional Geocache
PazaUK: In the light of recent DNFs, I swung by to check it out. Given where it was hid it has clearly been pinched so sadly will have to say bye bye to this after over five and a half years. Thanks to all who have visited and sorry to those who had a wasted trip before. Cache on!

I got this micro cache seed from an M6 Toll View cache and the seed for the idea was planted by andynelaine as well.
The station opened in 1989, as the terminus of the first stage of the reopening of the Chase Line from Walsall to passenger trains. At first, there was just a single platform; however, when services were extended to Rugeley Town in 1997, a second platform was added.
Typically, Hednesford is served by one train per hour in each direction between Birmingham New Street and Stafford. At peak times on weekdays, there are additional trains between Birmingham New Street and Hednesford, some of which continue to Rugeley Town. There is no service northwards to Stafford in the evening/Sundays, although trains do run as far as Rugeley Trent Valley until 19.00 on weekdays (terminating/starting here after that time) and until the end of service on Sundays. From December 2008, the Monday to Saturday daytime frequency from Hednesford to Rugeley, Walsall and Birmingham will increase from 1 to 2 trains per hour.
There are two free car-parks and you can approach the cache from either - though the official station car-park tends to be full during the work day.
