As a relative newcomer to Geocaching, this fall was my first
experience with the Venona Activities. For those of you who don't
know what I am referring to, you may want to familiarize yourself
with the background material available on the Geocachers of the Bay
Area web site:
(Note that this cache may be found without using those
materials, but it will certainly be easier if you are familiar with
Venona's Modus operandi.)
Venona 2008 Activity 9 ended with the recovery of a clue that
had been planted in the Sunnyvale Baylands. Another cache,
A Bridge Too Far, marks the
general location where the clue was found. It is highly likely
that Venona or one of his agents parked at the posted
coordinates, and then walked out to place the clue.
This cache provides you with an opportunity to walk in the
footsteps of Venona. Simply review the background material, solve
the puzzles, park at the posted coordinates, and then walk in the
footsteps of Venona to the cache.
This area has posted hours of 6:30 am to one-half hour after
sunset. Please respect park hours and rules.
