Geocache Description:

A big box for a lot of hard travels.

After the HUGE response to the "Been There. Done That. Sask GeoTourist Challenge", we thought a race where everyone started from the beginning might be fun. That way more people, especially the new folk, would have a more equal chance at the FTF.

The rules are basically the same as ""Been There. Done That. Sask GeoTourist Challenge" except that you can only count cache finds starting on November 15, 2008 that you didn't use for "Been There. Done That. Sask GeoTourist Challenge". You can use the same urban municipality but it must be a different cache. The only exception is "X" as there is only one "X" urban municipality, so you folk who went to Xena, you can use that one until there is another "X" cache.

This will be harder for the people who have cached out towns with certain letters, but perhaps some nice folk can put some new caches in new/old towns for the veterans.

Starting with your finds on November 15, 2008, to complete this Challenge You must:

1) Successfully find and log a cache in 26 different urban municipalities in the province of Saskatchewan, whose name begins with each letter of the alphabet. The letter must be the first letter of the urban municipality.
Examples:
• R = Regina (incorporated town – 1884, city – 1903) you are allowed only one cache out of the 200+ caches within the city limits. Go to (visit link)
• C = Canora (incorporated village-1905) It's here, isn’t it? (GC126B7) is okay. Keiko's Cache II (GCXTW0) is too far away!) Look up canoraqx.sasktelwebhosting.com.

2) Caches logged since November 15, 2008, in the province of Saskatchewan must be used for this challenge. Events do not count.
September 17, 2009 update - The cache's physical log must be signed and also an on-line log posted on www.geocaching.com.

3) Caches used for this challenge must not be used for "Been There. Done That. Saskatchewan Geo-Tourist Challenge". The only exception is "X" as there is only one "X" urban municipality, so you folk who went to Xena, you can use that one until there is another "X" cache.

4) Logging finds on caches that you own will NOT be allowed. If a community only has one Geocache there, please think about placing another one there so that the owner of the cache is able to complete this challenge.

5) For further guidance - definition of a municipality:
• 1 : a primarily urban political unit having corporate status and usually powers of self-government
• 2 : the governing body of a municipality

6) In Saskatchewan, cities, towns, villages and resort villages are all defined as urban municipalities. You have an abundance of choices. For listings see the Municipal Directory in the Government of Saskatchewan website:
• Of the 790 Saskatchewan municipalities, 469 are considered urban. These include: 13 cities; 147 towns; 269 villages; and 40 resort villages.
• There are also 172 unincorporated organized hamlets.
• In the north, there are 25 incorporated municipalities: 2 towns; 11 villages; 12 hamlets and 10 northern settlements.

7) Your urban municipality will need to be currently or have been incorporated as a city, town, village, resort village, hamlet or northern settlement. There are many hamlets & villages that have been turned over to rural municipalities. De-commissioned urban municipalities may be included as long as they were incorporated at some point in their history or are an unincorporated organized hamlets or northern settlement. Just a grain elevator with a name on it will not do. For Example:
• B = Bents = Bents View (GC1GFCA). The photo in www.ghosttownscanada.ca that states that Bents was a hamlet in 1937. This urban municipality is now a ghost town and would count.

8) You will need to find your cache within the city, town, village or hamlet limits. You can use the Topo Map feature to verify the perimeters. The only exception is a cache planted near the highway that now bypasses the community. For Example:
• Southeast Loop #8 (GC1DR74) in Wauchope (incorporated 1906), is within the village while Red Coat Trail 'Wauchope' (GC1HFA4) is outside the limits, however, it is close to the Father Gaire Monument which is on the highway so we will allow either cache to be used. See www.wauchope.ca

9) If in doubt, please contact us for a “ruling”. Once made, our ruling is final and we will update this information page.

10) You will need to create a public bookmark, named Geocacher XXX Has “Been There, Done That Saskatchewan GeoTourist Challenge”, that will include twenty-seven cache names – one for the final cache and one each for each of the twenty-six cache that you found. On each of the twenty-six listings, please put the letter of the alphabet that is at the beginning of the urban municipality, the urban municipality, the name of the cache and the date of the find.
11) Or you may also post a note with all twenty-seven caches with the GC ##s and cache name and links if you prefer not to use the "bookmark list”. One of the benefits of becoming a premium member is the ability to create bookmark lists.

12) Logs without completing the Challenge requirements or without a bookmarked list will be sadly deleted.

13) Once you complete your list, post a note and your bookmarks to this cache page for final approval. Then we will email you the coordinates for the final cache. The posted coordinates are not correct and are nowhere near the cache site. The cache is located near a Saskatchewan landmark.

14) Please keep this bookmark public for a minimum of six months after completing the challenge.

15) Caches bookmarked under this challenge may also be used in other Challenge Caches with the exception of "Been There. Done That. Saskatchewan GeoTourism Challenge.

16) We are relying on the GeoCachers’ honour system but we will spot check finds. If we find a problem, CharlieDog will sniff you out and make you play fetch until you cry uncle!

17) The most IMPORTANT RULE is have fun exploring our great province and be safe!

FTF Prize is a camoed lock n lock filled with swag, logbook, pencils and sharpener = ready to go geocache!
