While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

When repairs to this cache are completed, and it is time to have it listed once again it will be no problem as long as it still meets the guidelines. Just drop me a note( by email at Mongo@geocachingadmin.com) and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link of your cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Mongo

WARNING: You are about to embark on a dangerous journey in search of an elusive creature. Please take the time to click on the link above to learn a bit more about the TRUE STORY of MoMo. Photobucket The legend of MoMo (otherwise known as The Missouri Monster) goes back hundreds of years, but more recent sightings have been considered newsworthy. The most famous sighting took place in Louisiana, MO., but sightings have been documented in St. Charles County. The "Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization" Web site lists Momo sightings in 29 Missouri counties, including a 1976 report from St. Charles County. According to the report, two people were in a boat on the Missouri River near Highway 40-61 when they saw what appeared to be a 6-to-7-foot tall creature covered in dark brown hair. The creature was drinking from the river when it saw the boat, stood up and ran into the trees. Your mission is to find MoMo at night and search for his glowing red eyes...well...or maybe even eye. Story has it that maybe one of his eyes was injured when a hunter attempted to stop him. Park at the listed parking coordinates below and proceed to the listed coordinates. When you arrive, shine your light in all directions until you see reflective tacks. Proceed to those tacks. From that point shine your light around until you see more reflective tacks and proceed to that location. You may have to move around a bit while searching with your light, but don't stray far from the tacks. Each tack location will have approximately 3 or 4 tacks until the last point. The last tack point will have a large grouping of tacks. Go to this location and SHUT OFF YOUR LIGHTS! MoMo is afraid of too much light and you will scare him away. I have it on good authority that if your lights are off and you look around long enough, you will see his glowing right eye flashing in the night. You will have to look closely! If for some unforseen reason you don't see the his glowing eye, there are coordinates to MoMo's lair in a 35mm film cannister at the base of the tree with the large grouping of tacks. Use it only as a last resort as to not ruin the fun. Carefully sneak up on MoMo and remove the cap from the pill bottle located just under his eye. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE DOWN THE PILL BOTTLE!! Just unscrew it and remove the paper inside. On the paper inside are the coordinates for the final. Reach the final and you are an official MoMo hunter! Good luck and bring a camera just in case you can capture MoMo in a picture! VERY IMPORTANT: MoMo is not the only hunting taking place in this location. Be sure to read up on Missouri's hunting seasons and wear appropriate clothing during hunting season.
