I thought it would be fun to see how many new cache sites I could find near to Mills in my local area. These will include Watermills and Windmills, some still in use, some now used for other purposes. Most mills are sited in nice surroundings, so I hope you will enjoy visiting them. I will be adding new caches to this series over the next few months.
All the micros are hidden right on public footpaths. None of them will be very close to private houses. Some of them are near public highways, but many are along private roadways, with only footpath access. Please park considerately, and do not drive along any private roads to access the caches.
Elmers Mill at Ockley is a brand new windmill, still under construction, and you don't get many of those these days! It is being built on the brick base of the original windmill, which was all that was left after it collapsed in 1944. There is a website all about the new windmill at www.ockleywindmill.co.uk which has lots of photos of both the old and new windmills.
Take the footpath from the main road, past the windmill, to reach the cache.
