Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in the honor of Nikos Kazantzakis.
Nikos Kazantzakis (February 18, 1883, Heraklion, Crete - October 26, 1957, Freiburg, Germany) was a Greek novelist, poet, playwriter and thinker. Arguably the most important Greek writer and philosopher of the 20th century, he acquired wide fame after Michael Cacoyannis made his novel Zorba the Greek into a film in 1964. He is the most translated contemporary Greek author.

He died in Germany, and when his body arrives in Athens, the Greek Orthodox Church refuses to allow it to lie in state. The body is transferred to Crete, where it is viewed in the cathedral church of Heraklion. A huge procession follows it to interment on the Venetian ramparts. Later, Kazantzakis’ chosen epitaph is inscribed on the tomb: "Den elpizo tipota. Den fovamai tipota. Ime leftheros." (I hope for nothing. I fear nothing. I am free.)

From the cache place you will have a nice view of the city of Heraklio. The cache is a small plastic cylinder with some items to trade.
Attention As mentioned the First finder of the cache the cache area is open from sunrise until the sunset.
