Raven Tor is the ridge which extends east from Brim Fell before plunging down to Boulder Valley. It makes a lovely way onto the summit of Brim Fell by ascending from Low Water. Rather than use the busy and rocky main path up the Old Man, head north from the tarn and follow a faint, grassy path that leads gently upwards.

At the top of the grass a sharp col is reached with the summit of Raven Tor just to the east. Straight ahead is a great view into Gill Cove. It's perfectly feasible to continue north down into the Cove to join the Levers Hawes path down to the tarn (or indeed, to come up this way). The summit is an excellent place to sit and enjoy the view spread directly before you. NNE through the gap between Swirl How and Black Sails is a fine view of Pavey Ark.
The cache should be an easy find at the obvious feature. Following FMH's lead, it's double wrapped for freshness! Hopefully, this will keep the log and swaps dry. The outer container is a small regular, please screw lid on well. Easiest if you leave most of the rocks in place when retrieving the cache. Just take the top two horizontal ones off and lift out. Please re-hide well and in the same manner.
To gain the ridge from the cache, go west through easy broken ground, gently ascending to the top. No scrambling is involved, in fact it's an easier ascent than the main Old Man path.
