Esta cache está inserida no
Percurso Pedestre do Castelejo e é o seguimento da cache
-GC14DT4 - cujo objectivo é dar a conhecer melhor a parte
final do percurso, nomeadamente, uma das mais importantes escarpas
de falha, do Maciço Calcário Estremenho - Castelejo (actualmente
zona protegida, devido à nidificação de aves) .
O percurso pedestre segue ao longo da imponente escarpa do
Castelejo até que esta vai ficando mais pequena e dá-se início a
uma zona completamente diferente em termos de flora, refiro-me ao
denso mato do Carvalhal de Orçário, onde para além dos carvalhos
podemos observar outras espécies faunísticas que se encontram
actualmente sobre o regime de espécie protegida. O percurso
pedestre segue na direcção da povoação de Alvados, mas antes passa
por um "meandro rural" bastante interessante, sendo que irá
terminar no local de começo, junto ao Centro de Actividades ao Ar
Livre de Alvados.
Para quem não tiver a oportunidade de fazer os 12 kms do percurso,
sugiro que deixem o carro no Centro de Actividades ao Ar Livre de
Alvados e que façam o percurso no sentido contrário (na direcção de
Alvados) a pé ou de bicicleta. Se deixar o carro no estacionamento
aconselhado, demora cerca de 2 horas a fazer a cache e a regressar
ao carro.

This cache is inserted into the
Pedestrian Route Castelejo and the cache is the follow- GC14DT4 -
whose help to better understand the final part of the route,
including one of the most important of fault scarps, the Massif
Limestone Estremenho - Castelejo (currently zone protected because
of the nesting of birds).
The pedestrian path along the escarpment impressive until you do
Castelejo this is getting smaller and there is beginning to a zone
completely different in terms of flora, I am referring to the dense
jungle of Orçário Carvalhal, where in addition to the oaks can
observe other wildlife species that are currently on the system of
protected species. The route follows the direction of the
pedestrian village of Alvados, but before passing through a
"winding rural" very interesting, and will end at the point of
beginning, with the Center for Outdoor activities of Alvados.
For those who do not have the opportunity to make the 12 miles of
the route, I suggest you leave the car at the Center for Outdoor
activities of Alvados and making the journey in the opposite
direction (towards Alvados) on foot or by bicycle. Leaving the car
in the parking advised, it takes about 2 hours to make the cache
and return to the car.
