Meopham is the
longest village in England and is a large rural Parish with a
population of approximately 9500 residing in an area of eight and a
half square miles. The centre is just five miles south of Gravesend
and the River Thames.
The Parish of Meopham has four main greens - Culverstone Green,
Harvel Green, Hook Green and Meopham Green - and it is on the last
of these that cricket has been played since 1778. It is overlooked
by The Cricketers Inn, one of Meopham's well known public houses
and also by the Windmill, built by the Killick Brothers in 1801 and
now the headquarters of the Parish Council. Visits to the Windmill
can be made in the summer months by arrangement with the Windmill
Trust.
You need to cross the
main road twice and follow several short stretches of country road
so do be careful. The paths were very muddy at the time of setting
so boots are a must. The D/T rating and attributes reflect the
whole series.
Keep a pen with you,
smalls and regulars will have one but the micros won't. A map is
probably a good idea, too.

Feel free to help maintain the trail. I don’t mind cachers
replacing logs or containers, in fact I heartily welcome it!
Please Take Note: Maintenance is optional. If you think
maintenance should be done only by the rather lazy CO, I completely
understand.
If you're planning on
tying in Meopham Green (GCVEYX) I'd get the numbers together before
you start the circuit.
You will find
yourself walking through someone's garden between 9 and 10, don't
panic you have every right to be there but it isn't a good spot for
a picnic or comfort break - if you get my meaning.
