Cervenohorským sedlem a Šerákem.

[CZ]

socialismu chatu vlastnily Restaurace a jídelny.

Jedinou dochovanou
stavbou je prístrešek - kaplicka nad pramenem z roku 1934. Nyní je
nove opravena, doplnena tepanými železnými dvermi a obrazem Panny
Marie.

My jsme ji
našli jako jednu z prvních a nadchla nás, proto chceme dát šanci
dalším.

Heath Spring (1290 m above sea level)

Heath Spring is a picturesque spot with a rich history situated on
the Hrubý Jeseník mountain ridge below Cervená hora (Red Mountain -
1333 m above sea level). It is accessible along the red tourist
trail from Cervenohorské sedlo / Red Mountain Saddle (3.5 km) or
from the peak of Red Mountain (0.5 km along the yellow tourist
trail).

History:
Heath Spring was discovered in the 18th century. The tale says that
it was found by a hunter pursuing a wounded deer. When the deer
drank from the spring, its wound was healed and it ran away. Later
on, the hunter himself was miraculously cured of a serious disease
by drinking water from Heath Spring. To thank for his cure, he put
up a picture on a post near the spring and the legend spread. Heath
Spring became a place of pilgrimage.

A wooden chapel was soon built above the spring. In 1850 it was
replaced by a stone chapel; the stone used for its construction
came from the Desná River. The walls, up to 130 cm thick, were
gradually damaged by cracks and so in 1927 the chapel was rebuilt
into a church. The church was set on fire and burnt down by
lightning in 1946.

Heath Spring Chalet (see retrophoto above) was built for the needs
of pilgrims as early as the start of the 19th century. In 1892 it
was burnt down, but newly built the following year. In the time of
socialism its maintenance was neglected, it got into disrepair and
finally in 1988 it was pulled down.

At present there are only foundations left of both buildings. The
only surviving structure is a shelter – chapel over the spring
which was built in 1934. It has now been repaired, fitted with a
new wrought iron gate and a picture of Virgin Mary.

The restored cache is located at a highly attractive tourist
location. It was founded by Veverka Šumperk (vevlog). During its
existence (16.7.2006 - February 2008 when it was archived) it was
logged by 48 cachers. We found it among our first chaches and it
was our favourite one. Therefore, we want others to enjoy the
experience, too.
