This event is one of a series of flash mob events around the
world being synchronized to occur all at the same time. The
coordinates above will take you to the site where the Kansas City
flash mob will occur.
Haven't been to a flash mob before? Well, you're in for a treat.
This will be one of the fastest event caches you're likely to
attend. Lasting only fifteen minutes, and not a nano-second longer,
you'll get just enough time to mingle, sign a log, get you're photo
taken, exchange some TB's if desired, and maybe win a prize before
you leave. The following is a schedule of the event:
Before 12:00 PM -- arrive at the event site. Walk around a bit
and try to avoid looking like a group. It's a flash mob, so waiting
until the last minute before approaching the site helps confuse
muggles when we appear at once.
12:00 PM -- All volunteers attend to their stations. Logger and
Door Prize Drawer should line up near each other. Photographer will
begin taking photos of the event. Swag/Trackables Bucket Watcher
will find a spot to the side and help in the trading process. Emcee
will announce beginning of event and a few instructions.
12:00 PM --> 12:08 PM -- Attendees line up to get a sign-in
sheet from the Logger. Sign the sheet and submit to the Door Prize
Drawer for a chance to win. Mingle with fellow geocachers, visit
the Swag Bucket for trade items, or visit the Trackables Bucket to
drop off/pick up TB's and coins. Try to sign the large sign for the
group photo.
12:08 PM --> 12:10 PM -- Photographer will set up camera while
attendees quickly get arranged for a group photo.
12:10 PM -- SMILE!!!
12:10 PM --> 12:13 PM -- Pay attention for your chance to win a
Door Prize. Names will be drawn from the collection of log sheets
turned back in.
12:13 PM --> 12:15 PM -- Last chance to mingle. Maybe find
someone for some group geocaching after the event. Don't forget to
CITO.
12:14 PM -- One Minute Warning.
12:15 PM -- DISPERSE!! The event is over...time to move on.
Several volunteers will be needed to assist with the event.

See you at the event
UPDATE (10/23/08): NeeneeRaven has volunteered to make us a sign
for the event. Larry739 has offered to help keep an eye on the
swag/trackables bucket.
UPDATE (10/26/08): Updated cache page with descriptions of the
volunteer jobs. Minor update to schedule.
UPDATE (10/27/08): Jeepers Creepers Two has offered to be the
Door Prize Drawer.
UPDATE (10/28/08): Both Flo. and Cacz have offered to help pass
out log sheets. If enough people arrive, we may need the two
people. Let's see who shows up first to claim the job. Hmmm...or
maybe a good game of Rock, Paper, Scissors...or is it Nano, Micro,
Ammo Can?
DOOR PRIZE UPDATE (11/2/08): I figured that now is a good
pointto mention what door prizes are planned. Exactly what is
offered to whom will depend on attendees. If there are enough kids,
a separate drawing will be held for them. Door prizes will include
some unactivated geocoins, some ready-to-go micro and small caches,
and possibly some swag prizes for those cachers running low on
swag. Jeepers Creepers Two is also donating some WWFM IV pathtags
too. If you get this, you'll have to settle for waiting until
January to receive it due to the rather large backlog of orders
(it's out of stock). Also, an idea came up regarding additional
caching. If anyone would like to do some group caching either
before or after, please announce your interest in case others would
like to join you.
UPDATE (11/6/08): TWO DAYS LEFT!!! With two days left, I'm
updating with the name of our official photographers...Woodland
Clan. Also, Jeepers Creepers Two came up with a great idea and we
will now draw a door prize for who gets to claim the official FTF.
You'll even get a certificate to proudly display your FTF skills.
Supplies for the event are currently being put together for easy
transport, ready to be used at the event. Remember...there is
plenty of room for more people, and there are still some good
prizes being set aside, including some unactivated geocoins, some
official WWFM IV pathtags, and some ready-to-hide caches. This is
going to be a fun event.
