Skunk Works is an official alias for Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs, formerly called Lockheed Advanced Development Projects.

Skunk Works is responsible for a number of famous aircraft designs, including the U-2, the SR-71, the F-117, and the F-22. Its largest current project is the F-35 Lightning II, which will be used in the air forces of several countries around the world. Production is expected to last for up to four decades.

"Skunk works" or "skunkworks" is widely used in business, engineering, and technical fields to describe a group within an organization given a high degree of autonomy and unhampered by bureaucracy, tasked with working on advanced or secret projects.

From this location one can clearly see the runways on the Waterkloof Airforce base. On a busy day many 'Flossies' can be seen taking off from this location. It is also home to the Presidents Jet.

The base was officially opened on 1 August, 1938 as Waterkloof Air Station. Since that time it has always been in the service of the SAAF. It was upgraded to Air Force Base during WWII.

Once you discover the cache location you will soon find out the secretive nature of this cache.

Happy Hunting !
