[LAT]Liepniekvalka krastos izveidojies smilšakmens atsegums, kura
ieejam. Alu kopgarums sasniedz 70 m, padarot to par vienu no
garakajiem dabisko alu labirintiem ne tikai Kurzeme, bet ari
Latvija. Šo labirintu veido viena lielaka un divas mazakas
sazarotas telpas, kas sava starpa savienotas ar tuneliem. Alas
izveidojušies vairaki pilari un smilšakmens stabi.
Dabiska cela smilšakmens alas veidojas udens darbibas rezultata,
udenim kimiski vai mehaniski škidinot iežus.
Lielaka dala Latvijas alu (aptuveni 90%) ir sufozijas alas. To
veidošana galvena loma ir avotiem un strautiem, tadel sufozijas
avotus sauc par avotu alam. Avotu udens mehaniski izskalo un iznes
no iežu plaisam sikus graudinus, pamazam veidojot pazeme tukšumus.
Sufozijas alas Latvija ir Gutmana ala un Peldangas labirints.
Sufozijas alas konstatetas dažadas bakteriju un zilalgu sugas, ka
ari vairakas augu un senu sugas.
UZMANIBU!
Peldangas jeb Liepniekvalka alu labirints ir valsts nozimes
aizsargajamais dabas piemineklis. Geologiska un
geomorfologiska dabas pieminekla teritorija aizliegts:
* rakstit, zimet un gravet uz smilšakmens atsegumiem
* bojat zemsedzi un labiekartojuma objektus
* piegružot apkartni.
[ENG] In the sandstone outcrop on the banks oh the Liepniekvalka
River springs have eroded a maze of caves and underground passages
a typical for the territory of Latvia. The Peldanga Maze is an
approximately 5 meters high and 20 meters wide outcrop. It is a
formation of Devonian Arukila and Burtnieku suite grey sandstone.
The maze is a complex system of underground caves with five
entrances. The total length of the caves reaches 70 meters making
it one of the longest natural cave maze not only in Kurzeme, but
also in Latvia as a whole. The maze is formed by one bigger and two
smaller branched rooms linked by tunnels. Several pillars and
sandstone columns can be found in the caves.
Natural sandstone caves form under the impact of water dissolving
rocks both chemically and mechanically. Mainly springs and brooks
have formed most of the caves in Latvia (approximately 90%).
Washing out the small grains from the rock cracks spring water
gradually forms empty spaces underground. The Gutmana Cave and the
Peldanga Maze are the largest caves of the kind in Latvia.
ATTENTION!
The Peldanga or Liepniekvalka maze lies under the state
protection. Let us preserve it for the next generations.
