cinu, stavely se na techto mistech pamatne a nebo smirci kameny.
Lidi pribyva a k nestestim dochází stále casteji. Zvu Vas k
jednomu novodobému památnému a i smircimu "kameni", který ma
pripomínat obeti dalnicni dopravy na
„Via
Carolina“.
Soucasne
toto místo slouzi jako Kaple smireni dvou sousedních narodu, které
byly nekolik generaci rozdeleny diky ruznym ideologiim.
Ridice,
kterí mírí z Rozvadova na Prahu už nekolik kilometru predem
informuje první poutac o tom, že na odpocívadle u Plzne-Šlovic je
dálnicní kaple. Je neprehlédnutelná, protože jak potvrzuje její
architekt Jan Soukup, cní do výšky 12 metru.Kaple byla vybudována
za prispení rady firem, které se podílely na stavbe dálnicního
obchvatu Plzne, z iniciativy obcanského sdružení Via Carolina.
Jméno sdružení vychází z tradicního názvu stredoveké cesty,
spojující Cechy s Nemeckem. Práve v Nemecku mají dálnicní kaple
bohatou tradici. Tamní silnicní tahy jich lemuje na tricet. První
ceskou dálnicní kapli najdou návštevníci na dálnici D5 na
odpocívadle u obce Šlovice ve smeru na Prahu.
Kaple
smírení tvorí jakási monumentální novodobá Boží muka. "Boží muka
jsou obvyklými pruvodci starých cest v Cechách. Pripomínají
cestujícím stálou Boží prítomnost a odpovednost cloveka vuci sobe i
druhým," zamýšlí se nad významem stavby její autor architekt Jan
Soukup. Na kapli je navíc umístena pametní deska obetem dálnice.
Kaple tak bude památníkem všech lidských obetí dálnicní
dopravy.

A special stone
of reconciliation
In the
past special memorable stones or the so called „stones of
reconciliation“ were built at places struck by misfortunes or acts
of violence.
As the
number of people grows, so does the level of accidents. Let me
invite you to one of the modern times memorable stones as well as
the stone of reconciliation that is to commemorate the victims of
road accidents at “Via Carolina” motorway. This place serves as a
Chapel of Reconciliation of the two neighbouring nations that had
been divided for generations by different ideologies.
The road from Rozvadov to Prague is signposted several kilometers
in advance about the existence of a motorway chapel at Plzen -
Šlovice. According to its architect Mr. Jan Soukup it is clearly
visible for drivers as it rises to the height of 12 m. The chapel
was built under the contribution of many companies involved in the
construction of the Plzen roundabout and Civics´Association called
Via Carolina. The name of this association has its origins in the
name of a medieval road connecting Bohemia and Germany. It is
Germany where the tradition of motorway chapels has a rich
tradition. There are about 30 of them along the local motorways.
The first chapel of this kind can be found at the lay-by of D5
motorway at Šlovice village in the direction to Prague.
The chapel of reconciliation is a sort of modern times chapels
built in fields. These little chapels were commonly built alongside
old roads in Bohemia to commemorate permanent presence of God and
responsibility of people towards each other.
A memorial plaque devoted to the victims of road accidents is
placed on its wall. The chapel thus serves as a memorial to all
victims of road accidents.
