Geocache Description:

This is a multi cache.
The published co-ordinates will not take you to the final cache, to find it you must park in the parking in the street and take a walk through this peaceful, tranquil, area and find the Smuts look behind Cornelius in the Tree to get final co-ordinates .
Please respect this place, and proceed quietly.
At the final coordinates you wont need to gain entry to find the cache.

This is the 2nd in the Hill Cache series - tried to google for information on the Ferndale Spruit and surrounding area, found nothing interesting. I have grown up and lived in Ferndale most of my life, so I thought of doing a couple of caches in the area. When my folks moved to Ferndale in the late 1960’s, there was a lot of open veld. As kids we would play in the veld behind our house with our homemade ketties and play Klylat down at the Ferndale Spruit. We would build box cars and race down West Ave and turn into the road that links West with Long Ave., and did not have to worry about cars, as there weren’t many cars on the road in those days .I was a scout with the 1.st Randburg Scout group and our Hall was in a double garage at a house at the top end of West Ave. The Scout master used to organise night games and one of the games was in the Veld near the Ferndale spruit. It was always scary when we walked past the Cemetery.
