Cave on the Harashim - Peikin trail
A nice shady hike through natural groves of Oak and Taberinth trees (Alon and Ella in Hebrew.)
Hike begins from the village of Harashim. There is a gate to the village, so you will probably have to park the car outside the gate and walk in. It is about a 10 minute walk to the trail head of the black trail. N 32o 57.569, E 35 19.767
This trail can take you to the village of Pekiin - an interesting village where Muslim, Druze, Christian and Jews live together in the Galilee. Also famous for Savta Gamila's natural olive oil soaps.
The cave is about half way between the two villages. Best to go with two cars, parking one at each village if you want to do the whole trip. There are no taxis in Peikiin. (We used one car and managed to convince a local in Pekiin to take us back up to Harshim for a price... ;-)
It took us about a 2 1/2 hour walk from the gate of Harashim to the center of Pekiin.
Cache is in a vitamin container. Original contents include a ring and small ball. Need to bring pen/pencil to log in.
Please look how log book is folded and return it the same way so the next geocacher can easily remove it. (otherwise it will fall inside and will be difficult to take out.) Thanks.
