Hunter Creek Visitor Info Centre used to be an active and
staffed visitor info centre for anyone that stopped in looking for
info, but was closed down many years ago (I assume due to lack of
use). Visitors now need to make the trip into Hope to visit the
next closest info centre. What remains is the small building,
parking lot and a small wooded area where the remains of the large
info boards and maps can still be seen.
As of July 2011, the small building burned down... probably by
someone who broke in and was sleeping in there. Such a shame as the
Hope Chamber of Commerce used it as a billboard for no cost, but
now the Ministry of Transport won't let them re-build it.
The cache is a small preform container, with only enough room
for the log book and pencil.
