Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the Sharonville Depot Square. There’s a play train with fountain and an actual train caboose for the kids to climb on. There are several restaurants nearby and soon the Sharonville Fine Arts center. There’s a Sharonville Historical Center 1 block away across from the Ameristop. There’s free public parking behind Cliff’s Hardware. Busy area, so unless you are bold, it’ll be best in the evening or weekends.

Also on Depot Square are round plaques detailing Sharonville history. You’ll get the final coordinates from these plaques. The first one is located near the caboose at coordinates listed above and they run in front of Cliff’s Hardware. The clues below give the missing numbers above (and below). Each plaque has a date listed on the bottom (in parentheses below) as well as info in the text.

The final cache is located at N 39 16.ABC W 084 24.DEF

1) Henry Runyan purchased settled here around 1791. (178D-17ZA)

2) Adrian Hageman settles on how many acres? 8EY (1794)

3) The town of Sharon was started with 71 lots and F7 people (18RX)

4) Erie Canal was located just west of Sharon (18SD)

5) Crescentville came into existence. By 189A there were 1B houses. In 18Z7 there was a 2 -room school house. (18SX)

6) Sharon began its railroad history. (187Q)

7) When Sharon changed to “Sharonville” (187C)

8) Sharonville had a racetrack! (19RF)

9) Sharonville became a city when its population reached 5BEY (19CQ)

(Note I list the # multiple times in case you got a number mistaken. You should get the same # twice.)

Everything is within easy walking distance. I tried to theme the cache with railroad and Sharonville items.

(And no fair asking the ice cream lady where it is! :-)
