Summary: The Basic Idea

This event is part of the WWFM IV - World Wide Flash Mob coordinated events (see growing bookmark list)
Thousands of geocachers at dozens of events all around the globe, gathering at the same time

Flash Mob I - May 2007 - Balboa Park (video) - almost 200 local geocachers; 20 world-wide events
WWFM II - Nov 2007 - Belmont Park in Mission Beach (video) - 4400 world-wide attendees at 83 events
WWFM III - May 2008 - Coronado near the Ferry Landing - almost 8000 attendees at 163 events

THIS TIME, join us at San Diego Bay near the U.S.S. Midway near the Bob Hope memorial and the larger-than-life "Unconditional Surrender" statue.

The Plan

The event will begin precisely at 10:00am on Saturday, November 8th.
An Orange Bucket full of Nice Swag placed on ground zero will signal the start of the event!!!
The event will be facilitated by volunteers. If you'd like to be a WWFM volunteer, please contact us (podcacher@gmail.com) and let us know.

Prior to the start time, mosey and wander about non-challantly ... Then when the bucket is set down ... converge on the Ground Zero!

First Waypoint : Group of Trees
Receive log sheet and info sheet (bring your own pen!!)
Trade swag from the bucket if you want
Swap travel bugs or coins from the Travel Bug box
Chat and mingle

At the designated time move to the next waypoint.

Second
Waypoint: Large Statue
Receive event "meal" (Hershey Kisses)
Turn in log sheets

At the designated time move to the final event waypoint.

Third
Waypoint: Bob Hope Memorial
Raffle prizes awarded (drawn from log sheets)
At precisely 10:15, disperse! Leave the area without a trace!!!

AFTER the event is officially over, feel free to meet up at the 1st waypoint.
You can use this opportunity to make plans with other geocachers for brunch or caching in the neighborhood.

If any muggles are curious about the event we will have a volunteer hand out fliers that explain geocaching.

NOTE: After we announced the chosen WWFM IV date to the world (and event planning was already in process around the globe), the annual Ocotillo Wells desert camp-out was published for the same weekend. We regret the conflict, but we couldn't change the date at that point. If you can't make it out to the desert, please come and join us for a fun, fast event.

METERED PARKING is available in the nearby lot. A quarter will buy 12 minutes, so you should be able to park for less than $1.0

There are sure to be several muggles nearby who will wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?" That's part of the fun!!!
