I mitten av femtiotalet bodde här de båda bagarna och
enäggstvillingarna Nils och Axel Andersson.
En natt så vaknade Axel av ett fruktansvärt skrik och såg att
Nils var borta. Det var en kall och blåsig novemberdag 1954.
Ytterdörren stod och slog på vid gavel och han tog med sig sin
fotogenlykta och följde fotspåren i snön.
Spåren upphörde vid den brandstege som då satt på fasaden mot
norr.
Axel gick nu runt på framsidan av huset och försökte få en skymt av
taket.
Till hjälp hade han fullmånen som lyste skarpt. Synen var
fruktansvärd. Vid foten av den vänstra skorstenen låg Nils
fullkomligt sönderriven.
Axel sprang till närmaste gård och hämtade manskap. När man väl
fått ner Nils så stod det fullkomligt klart att inget känt djur
kunnat åstadkomma något liknande.
Efter begravningen så bodde Axel kvar en kort period. Axel
berättade att taket alltid läckte in vatten där man fann Nils och
det aldrig gick att få tätt på just den platsen. Än idag så kan man
se att takpannorna flyttat på sig vid foten av den vänstra
skorstenen.

In the mid-fitfies identical twins and bakers Nils and Axel
Andersson lived here
One night Axel woke to a horrible scream and saw that Niils was
gone. It was a cold and windy day in November in 1954. The front
door stood open and the wind blew it against the jamb and Axel took
his kerosene lamp and started to follow the footsteps in the snow.
The footsteps ended at the fire ladder that was on the north facing
side of the house. Axel went around to the front of the house and
tried to get a glimpse of the roof. He had the help of the light of
the full moon that shone brightly. The vision was horrible. At the
foot of the west chimney Nils lay torn limb from limb. Axel ran to
the nearest farm to find help. When Nils' body was brought down it
became crystal clear that no known animal could have done the
damage that was done to Nils.
After the funeral/burial Axel lived in the house for a short
period. He told that the roof always leaked water in where they had
found Nils' body and that it was impossible to seal the leak in
that area. Even today you can see that the shingles/roof tiles move
at the base of the western chimney!
