Covered Bridge Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

GuelphHiker: This cache has had a good run but it has been muggled regularly. I have replaced it about 15 times. I have come to the conclusion that it is not a good location for a regular cache (maybe I'm a slow learner...or maybe just persistent). Thanks to all who visited and especially to the 33 people who gave it a favourite point. But I like the location so stay posted.

Geocache Description:

The covered bridge is a well known Guelph landmark and spans the Speed River at its confluence with the Eramosa River. It links two city of Guelph trails, the Eramosa River Trail and the Silvercreek Trail. This pedestrian bridge was constructed by about 400 members of the Timber Framers Guild of North America in 1992. The 120 foot long wood lattice truss bridge was built using a 19th century design and 19th century building methods. The cache should be an easy find although this is a high muggle area and it will be difficult to retrieve without being seen on high traffic days such as Sunday afternoons in the summer. There is a garden bed near the cache. However, you do not have to enter the garden bed to retrieve the cache so please avoid doing so. The cache is at ground level and so may be more difficult to find if there is much snow cover. However, if you use the hint you should be able to figure out where it is and where you might need to dig in the snow a bit. If you don't spot the hiding place immediately please use the hint so the vegetation in the area doesn't get trampled. The hint is quite explicit and will make this an easy find. When replacing the cache please make sure it is returned into it's hiding place so it is not visible from any angle.
