On Sunday morning of April 22nd, 1945, thirteen young men were
taken out of Valasske Klobouky district prison cells, under the
threat of Nazi field gendarmes´ bayonets and the leader
Rudolf Adler. Only when they reached the place, they found out the
reason of coming to the fringe of the Potec´s Brezina forest.
They dug their graves. Then Nazi Adler shoot them one by one to the
back of their necks. After the war there was placed a stone with
this epigraph: "To the thirteen victims of the April 22, 1945 Nazi
despotism". In 1966 there was built a memorial by Frantisek Rafaja.
"They died but will live forever. Dedicated by grateful people of
Valasske Klobouky and Potec."
