Geocache Description:

Huffin 'n' Puffin is exactly what you'd be doing if you'd made it to the 18th tee on Surrey National Golf Course. This golf course is in my view, one of the finest for miles around. As such, it is often quite busy. So it is important to keep to the public bridleways and footpaths which surround and wind through this golf course.

Surrey National Golf Club is to be found in an area of outstanding natural beauty near to the village of Chaldon, near Caterham.

The golf course, designed by David Williams, meanders through wonderful rolling countryside populated by prolific and varied wild life which further enhances the appeal of the setting.

The topography of the course is extremely interesting with two valleys merging at the northern end offering wonderful views over Farthing Downs.

If you choose to park in the Golf Club car park, you could nip in for a super lunch at its Club Restaurant and bar. Alternatively, if you choose to park at the Fox Pub and walk through, you could equally partake of their splendid faire.

The cache would be about 10 minutes, relatively easy walk away from the Golf Club car park, and half an hour from the Fox Pub (the footpaths could be quite muddy when wet).

The cache is located next to the footpath, alongside the 18th fairway of the golf course. GPS coverage is pretty good.

If walking from the Golf Club, follow the public bridlepath down the hill from the front of the golf club towards a small lake on your left. At the bottom of the hill turn left. You now follow this path which runs along the right hand edge of the 18th fairway, as looking from the green by the lake to the 18th tee.

Alternatively, if walking from the Fox Pub, then follow the footpath along to the back of Caterham barracks, and then drop down along the footpaths towards the golf course following the GPS signal as you go.

We have placed this cache on behalf of our American family - GeoRetrievers - who live in Suwanee, Georgia. They had always wanted to place a cache, but there are so many caches over there that it is impossible to place one further than the 0.1 mile minimum stipulation. So we are now their custodians.

The cache is a 450ml click Fresh type Tupperware box. It is big enough to hold Travel Bugs/Coins, etc.. Please feel free to swap items contained as usual. It is hidden close to the path and covered from view.

A big congratulations to Merstham Mafia FTF (on a night raid no less)
