Are You Superstitious? [Abrantes] Traditional Geocache

A superstição está sempre presente nas nossas vidas. A maior parte das pessoas diz não ser supersticioso, e no entanto muitas vezes têm atitudes ou comportamentos, irreflectidos ou não, que se assumem claramente como superstições.

Seguem-se alguns exemplos para que tentem verificar se vos são familiares:

- Partir um espelho é o equivalente a 7 anos de azar;

- Dentro de casa não se deve abrir um guarda-chuva pois dá azar;

- Passar por baixo de uma escada pode trazer má sorte;

- Há quem tenha porta-chaves com patas de coelho para trazer boa sorte;

- Se um gato preto atravessa o nosso caminho dá má sorte. (Possivelmente os donos de gatos pretos não acreditam nesta superstição.)

- Há quem tenha ferraduras penduradas na porta para atrair a boa sorte;

- O número 13 é um número que a generalidade das pessoas tende a evitar, por ser um número que trás azar. Alguns hotéis, por exemplo, não têm o quarto nº 13, ou o 13º andar passando directamente do 12º para o 14º.

Foi este último exemplo que deu origem à criação desta cache, pois é a nossa 13ª publicação. Fica perto de casa vá-se lá saber porquê... ;) Fica na Fonte da Omnia guardada por um ser muito especial.

Esta é apenas uma pequenissima amostra entre milhares de superstições e crenças que variadas pessoas de diferentes culturas têm e/ou conhecem.

Superstition is always present on our lifes. Most people say they aren't superstitious, however there are some occasions that their actions or behaviors are clearly superstition related.

Here are some examples for you to think about:

- Breaking a mirror is the equivalent to 7 years of bad luck;

- Nobody should ever open a umbrella inside the house - it's bad luck;

- Walk under a ladder could attract bad luck;

- Some people have rabbit feet as key chain for good luck;

- If black cat that crosses your path is supposed to mean bad luck. (I'm guessing that owners of black cats don't believe in this superstition.)

- Some people use horse shoes hanging on the door to attract good luck;

- The number 13 is generally a number everyone try to avoid - it is a bad luck number. For instance, some hotels don't have room 13, or a 13th floor - they jump from the 12th directly to the 14th floor.


This last example was the one that led to the creation of this cache which is our 13th geocache published. We placed it near home, guess why... ;) It is place in the Omnia Fountain guarded by a special being.

This is just a small sample out of thousands of superstitions and believes different people from different cultures have and/or know.
