Trináctka je v naší kulture neštastné císlo, pritom Kristus povolal 12 apoštolu a sám byl tedy trináctý. Podle staré tradice pozval papež Rehor denne ke stolu dvanáct chudých, aby s nimi pojedl. Jako trináctý se k nim mel tiše pridat andel. V Talmudu se píše: Jednou bude izraelská zeme rozdelena na dvanáct dílu, trináctý pripadne králi Mesiáši. Ve všech techto prípadech je císlo 13 jakýmsi svatým završením. Mnohé indicie ukazují na to, že v matriarchálních kulturách bylo 13 mesícu po 28 dnech, což samozrejme souviselo s lunárním cyklem žen. Patriarchát toto rozdelení roku premenil na dvanáct dílu, a trináctka získala jakousi dábelskou povest.
Objevuje se i v duležité pohádce O šípkové Ružence jako trináctá, zlá víla. Psychologové, kterí interpretují pohádky coby mýty s poselstvím o dobe a cloveku o této pohádce tvrdí, že stojí na prechodu mezi matriarchátem a patriarchátem. It means an unhappy number in our culture, although Christ sent for 12 apostles and he was the thirteenth. According to the old tradition the pope Gregor asked to his table twelve pure people every day to share his meal with them. The angel was supposed to join them as the thirteenth. In Thalmud there was written: Israel will be divided into twelwe parts one day, and the thirtheenth part will be given to the King Messiah. In all these cases the number 13 represents the saint complement. A lot of signs show us that in the matriarchal cultures there were 13 months with 28 days, which was of course connected with the female's periode. The patriarchy changed these dividing into twelve parts and the number whirtheen gained some devil's reputation.
It even appears in an important fairy-tale :The sleeping beauty: as the thirtheenth evil vairy. The psychologists who explain fairy-tales as myths with the message about the time periods and humans beeings, say that this fairy/tale is somewhere between matriarchy and patriarchy.
