Saxhyttan På 1500- och 1600talen startades ett flertal gruvor och hyttor runt om i Bergslagen. De flesta är i dag borta och det gäller också Saxhyttan. Här låg en gång en hytta. Idag finns inget kvar av den. Här finns också fortfarande ett kraftverk vid ån. I närheten av cachen finns på privat mark än idag kvar en djup jordkällare där man enligt den muntliga traditionen förvarade det siver som bröts i området innan detta skulle transporteras till Stockholm. Källaren ska också ha varit häkte i väntan på att fången kunde föras vidare. Tyvärr är källaren inte öppen för allmänheten. I närheten av cachen finns också kvar delar av den gamla bykvarnen. Även detta ligger på privat mark! Ån är paddlingsbar och i hela området finns många fina paddlingsleder. Mer information finns på turistbyrån i Hällefors. Cachen är ett plaströr med logbok, penna och stashnote. Vintertid med snö går den troligen ej att ta. During the 1600th and 1799th centuries many mines and furnaces were founded in Bergslagen. Most of them are gone since many years ago. Saxhyttan once had a furnace. There is still a power station by the river. Close to the cache on privet land there is a deep celler where silver from the mines was kept while waiting for the transport to Stockholm. The cellar was also used as a prison. It´s not open to the public. Close to the cache there is also the village mill (not in use today). Also this is on privet land! The cache is a plastic cylinder with logbook and pencil In the wintertime with snow you won´t be able to take this cache.
