Kaunas Fortress (Lithuanian: Kauno tvirtove) is the remains of a fortress complex in Kaunas, Lithuania.

III FORTAS
III fortas panašiai kaip I ir II simetrines strukturos, orientuotas i pietus. Išsidestes gilaus Sanašos slenio pietinio šlaito viršutineje terasoje, fortas labai apauges nepraeinamais bruzgynais, kurie formuoja reljefa, išraiškingas jo formas. Teritorija i pietus ir rytus beveik neurbanizuota; vakarineje puseje palei perimetro riba pastatyta eile gyvenamuju namu; palyginus intensyviai urbanizuota šiaurine teritorijos dalis. Ypatingai neigiama itaka turi forto teritorijoje pastatyti masyvus GAZ autoserviso gamybiniai pastatai, darkantys gamtini kraštovaizdi, bei architekturos paminklo ivaizdi. Svarbu tai, kad forto teritorija išlaikiusi jungti su gamtiniu karkasu, Sanašos upes sleniu. Gražiai matosi buvusio tvirtoves kelio (dabar Titnago g.) lanksti konfiguracija, turejusi didele reikšme Seniavos gyvenvietes subtilaus plano susiformavimui.

III FORT
The III fort, similarly as the I & II ones is symmetrical. It is polarized southwards. The fort is situated in deep Sanaša vale on the south slope top terrace. The all fort is overgrown with impenetrable bushes. The relief shows its expressive forms. Territory to the south and east is hardly urbanized; in the western side there are houses built in a row by the perimeter line. In comparison, the north tertitory part is urbanized intensively. Especially negative influence was made to the fort territory by building massive GAZ garages industrial buildings. They have defaced natural landscape, and have changed an architectural memorial example. It’s important that the fort's territory is held by the natural carcass, Sanaša river’s vale. The former castle’s way (now Titnagas st.) makes a very beautiful scenery. The III fort has made a significant influence to the district's formation.
