Tadpole's Swampy Night Cache Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mudfrog: Found out just recently that one of the areas that this cache uses, has been gated and posted with no tresspassing signs. Thought about trying to modify the cache but figure it's just best to go ahead and archive. We may end up placing another night cache in the future...

Geocache Description:

We had a great time finding the Gators and Ghouls night cache on the Sabine River so we thought we would place our own little night cache over here on the Neches. The Tx Tadpole hadn't yet made her arrival into the world when we completed that quest last year, but i'm sure she has some recollection of how much fun it was. This time, she not only was with us, but helped hide our cache. Since she loves being on the river and in the swamp, we named this one after her!

There's not much to say except that if you do decide to go for this cache, you should be prepared for anything. As far as critters go,, OH YEAH!!! You'll most likely see all kinds of wildlife, some of which you probably won't want to get too close to. There are plenty of snakes, gators, nutria, spiders, and biting insects in this beautiful area, but you won't have any problems with any of those if you watch where you're going, administer bugspray if needed, and use your good common sense. Of course, the critters aren't what we would be concerned about anyways. We saw evidence of what looked to be an abandoned camp near the final cache location so just to be on the safe side, turn around if you start hearing banjo music.

As far as the cache itself goes, remember that this is a night cache which means your chances of actually finding it are much better after the sun goes down. You'll definitely neezzzzzhmfhd d n,,p. waterborne transportation to complete the cache and we recommend that it be powered by some sort of moto nm hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh r because of the

Actua gfbnmvbnclly, making the trip by canoe or kayak could be alot of fun for some of you more seasoned and in shape cachers. (the Tadpole helped type some of the above). As far as night caches go, most of this one is pretty straightforward in that your main tool for finding those "eyes" is a good flashlight.. We have, however, added a little challenge about midway into your journey that could pose a problem for those who aren't familiar with some of the more advanced features of their gpsr. For you cachers who dislike surprises, the first part of the hint below tells of what this challenge consists of. We didn't encounter mud or get our feet wet when we hid the cache but we would advise you to bring shoes that are tolerant of moisture just to be safe. Mosquitos weren't bad either but i would imagine that there will be times when they are out in numbers and pretty aggressive.

I guess that's about it so we'll leave you with the following advice. Plan your trip carefully, make sure you have all your supplies, let someone know where you are going, and last but not least,,,,HAVE FUN!
