Geocache Description:

Yasaburodake (name of mountain). Elevation: 1058m

EDIT: 10/31/2015

Since the last few people could not find this cache, it may be time to retire it, I'm afraid. As a last-ditch effort to see if I can recover it, I will leave detailed instructions on where it is or WAS hidden... The free T-shirt offer still applies, if the cache is still there, and if someone finds it and sends it back to me.

When you arrive at the very top of the mountain, there is a small marker at the very summit. That is not where the cache is. You need to drop down the ground below, and make your way around to the BACK of the rocks on the summit. In other words, with your back to the beautiful view of the valley below, go down and to the left. Then, when you get to the back side, there is a crack/crevice in the rocks. If you reach in, at about an arm's length, and remove the top rocks (about fist-sized), then the cache is a small, plastic container hidden underneath.

***IMPORTANT NOTE!!!***

Please help me retire this cache! About a year ago, I had to move away from Japan, to Canada. Before leaving I did not have the chance or opportunity to retire this cache. To the next finder of this cache, would you PLEASE consider doing me a HUGE favor and removing it for me after you find it?

All I would ask, is that you mail me the logbook.... I will then mark this geocache as retired. As a reward for this service, I will send you a genuine, souvenir T-shirt from Victoria, Canada! (Your choice of size).

Any questions? (Or are you the lucky person to take me up on this offer? Please email me: drinkacupofcoffee@gmail.com)

*** THANK YOU!!!***

There are two ways to get to this cache: the challenging way (free!) or the easy way (expensive). It's up to you which way you choose. Either way, the panoramic views are breathtaking! I've left plenty of hints. You may use as many or as few as you wish!

Cache is a small, tupperware container with a blue lid. Inside, are a logbook and small Hello Kitty flags. First three to find can take one. Please bring your own pen!

Please be careful on this hike. The cache is in a safe location. There is no need for special equipment and there is no need to put yourself in danger. If you find yourself in an unsafe spot, you are in the wrong place. I've even seen old people hike up here, BUT please remember: there are no safety guardrails or anything to stop you from falling. It's a long, long way down!

If you choose the challenging way, the hike to the top of the ropeway takes about 45min. From there, it's another 15min. The trail from the bottom is well hidden and I would recommend it only to experienced hikers. The beginning of the trail is at: N 35d 45.197' E 138d 33.812'

If you take the easy way, ride the gondola up to the top of the mountain, then follow your GPS to the correct location.
