For some time we have been thinking that when this cache next needed maintainance that we would probably archive it ,and following the D.N.F log below it was that time.

We removed the cache container today .

Geocache Description:

A cache placed on F.C. Gore Heath Plantation and Heathland.
Walk is about 2K from car back to car , depending on route taken.
Views across the countryside from elevated parts of the walk.
Since February 2011 cache will take small swops and trackables only .

Suggested parking at the above co-ords,in Forestry Commission Lawson Clump car park and picnic area. All stages can be reached from along paths.No need to leave paths until a few metres from cache.

Cache placed with the knowledge of the Forestry Commission and in accordance with the Forestry Commission New Forest and East Dorset Permit Agreement. GAGB Agreement for the Forestry Commission New Forest and East Dorset
N.B. as part of this agreement it is not permitted to seek this cache during the hours of darkness.

From stage 1 in the picnic area there are two pathed routes up to stage 2. One is a well worn path narrow path starting behind the "dog bin". Some tree roots across path near top making it difficult for buggys.
Alternative route is along gravel track that initally leads in the wrong direction until reaching a wide path that leads up on the right hand side.
From stage 2 there are views across Great Ovens Hill over towards the distant Purbecks.From stage 2 the wide path heading northwards leads towards the final stage. A few tree roots across path before reaching cache location.

The cache is a 0.57Litre INSIDE a 1.5 litre "clip and close" plastic container camouflaged black.( double container since Feb 2011 because water keeps getting inside )
Please retrieve cache from behind the object hiding it, and leave container fully covered when replacing it.
