A kid friendly cache on the trails behind the Nortel Campus.
As part of the Nortel Summer Day Camp program, we had a geocaching adventure day. Femmeng hide this cache for the geokids to find. Now that they have found it, they invite you to find it, too. The cache is an easy walk from the Nortel main campus. You can stay on the trail until you are almost on top of the cache. When placed it had lots of kid friendly toys. It has already been tested by the 17 kids of the Nortel Ottawa Geokids. Please stay on the path because there are some delicate lichens in this area which shouldn't be stepped on. It looks like this area is part of the "burnt lands" left by the Great Ottawa Fire of 1870. At that time, in many places around here, the fire burned off all the soil, leaving only the rock of the Canadian shield. The lichens are helping the soil return. Thanks to Chasecrew and BCMax for checking my coordinates. This cache placed with the knowledge and assistance of the Nortel Aralia Wellness Program. Please look back, from the pathway, before you leave to make sure that cache is hidden again.
