For my 13th cache I decided that something more challenging was
in order. It's around 2 miles if you hike it but at least one mile
of hiking even if you drive between stages. The terrain is
essentially flat and mostly paved.
The first stage (and all the rest) are in Water Works Park. This
stage is a camouflaged match stick container. You will find the
coordinates for the second stage and the instructions you will need
to locate the third stage in the container. Bring a note pad and
something to write with so you can copy down the
instructions.
The first stage is off the bike/hike path so a bit of stealth
may be needed.
The second stage is a puzzle stage. You will need to work out
the puzzle from information you can gather at this stage to locate
the third stage.
The third stage is the stealth part. When you look will
determine how much stealth you will need. Sometimes it's quiet and
other times it's overrun by potential mugglers who may be there to
play baseball or soccer.
The final stage is a camouflaged lock-n-lock container stocked
with a few trade goodies and room for a travel bug or two. No
bushwhacking is required so look for an easy way in.
Initial contents include some insects, a few dinosaurs, 4 toy
cars, a pair of spare batteries, and a few small plastic bags. Feel
free to take whatever interests you even if you don't have anything
to trade.
This is a park area so NO NIGHT CACHING!
