The memorial
Poppies on Parade is a series of caches devised by
Mr.Nibbler, who has kindly given permission to use the
idea.
Wimpole and Arrington are a couple of small villages that border
the Wimpole Hall estate, just south west of Cambridge. Like many
villages, towns and cities in the UK they sent their sons to serve
at sea, on land and in the air. Not all of them came back, and like
many they have a memorial to those that have fallen and not
returned. This memorial was once on the busy A603 before this
section of road was sidelined when the Arrington roundabout was
built several years ago.
The Cache
Please replace carefully in exactly the same position so the
container is out of sight as you are in full view of passers by and
traffic on the road. The cache is very small and contains only a
tiny log so you need to take your own pen or pencil. Please note
that the cache is NOT on, or immediately adjacent to the memorial
or under the wreaths etc. so don't waste your time poking around it
please.
This is quiet little backwater and parking is available adjacent to
the memorial. Do not park on the A1198 as this is a very busy road
and crossing is not recommended. The area is paved and
wheelchair/stroller accessible.

forever England
